Change Reporting Deadline
After attending the Skyward Conference the past two days & listening to my cohorts, I would respectfully ask that consideration be given to extend the reporting deadline. Many people are relying on attending the WISEdata conference Nov. 12-13 and this severely interrupts our working abilities to submit in a timely manner. I myself have not even begun, as I am working on ISES reports. Any consideration would be appreciated. Thank you.
27 votesThe Reporting Deadline for WISEstaff has been extended to 11/25/2015. More information will be posted to the WISEstaff welcome page within the application

When I resolve errors can it take me to the next error instead of the edit staff screen?
When I go through and view the WISEstaff errors under the validate staff data tab and resolve an error it takes me the edit staff screen. It would be more efficient if the system could take me right to the next error to be resolved instead of going through all the different screens. I appreciate your time and consideration.
26 votesWe add the “Go to Navigator” button on the Validate Staff Data page which will allow you to go between each validation issue target page using navigation arrows without having to return to main page each time.

Form for Staff to report
For next year it would be nice to have a form that can be sent out to the staff with the %/Grade levels/ taught. Sometimes in small districts it can be quite a mixed bag.
Or an something that can be emailed to each staff member showing what last year's staff report says and ask them to revise.
16 votesWe created the Staff Corrections Form that accomplishes this. It includes grades taught as well.

How are the changes to the 1202 going to be communicated to the staff that actually takes care of it?
The 1202 site on the DPI website still says the report will open in December 2014? If this is not accurate how will this be communicated?
16 votesWe have updated the staff collection page with the correct timeline: http://lbstat.dpi.wi.gov/fallstaff

Put totals on your reports.
If there were TOTALS for FTE, Salary and Benefits, then I could check it against my source data and know instantly if I had a mistake in my entries before I lock and submit.
15 votesWe have now added Total Agency Salary and Total Agency Fringe Benefits to the Staff List at bottom of the screen and in the download. There are now totals on all reports were totals makes sense. For example, we don’t have them on the Admin Salary Fringe Report because staff with multiple assignments can have multiple rows, therefore, repeating their contract info so providing a total there would not make sense.

Add an option/button to delete a staff persons contracts and assignments all at once
Add an option/button to the main staff list to be able to delete both the contract and all assignments for a staff person all at once. Currently, the only way to delete a staff person from the agency's staff list is to delete each assignment individually and then have to delete the contract for that person. This new option would allow you to delete a person from your staff list with one step but would issue a warning confirmation box first for example: "Are you sure you want to delete all assignments and contracts for WISEid, First Name Last Name…
12 votesWe added red x to delete entire person from the Staff List. This deletes both contract and assignments.

Assignments in alphabetical order
Please put the assignments in alphabetical order instead of by license code. It would be a lot easier to find "reading" than looking up the code (316).
11 votesWe have modified the Assignment Code LIst so that Positions and Areas have seperate columns for both the code and names. So now you can sort by either codes or names by clicking the desired column header.
-

Create Staff Data Dashboard
Create a Staff Data Dashboard with high level statistics and summaries with drill in ability to records. Data should compare select agencies to previous years and state averages.

Local Person ID's print on All Staff Report.
It would be nice if the Local Person ID's would print out on the All Staff Report or you could print a list of just the ID's. Please consider adding this for next year. Thank you
6 votesWe completed this last year.

Change the timing of the new 1202 report
If it is true that the 1202 isn't going to be opened until Spring 2015 - this is horrible timing for most districts. Since the 1202 is completed by HR staff, the Spring is the busiest time with hiring new staff for the following school year. Why were we not consulted about this change?
6 votesThe WISEstaff collection will return to the normal 1202 collection window for the 15-16 school year

Contracted service providers should be able to report working staff in the same way as the CESAs
Companies that are contracted to provide staff for regular operational services like student transportation , food service and substitute teaching should be provided with a method to report staff data directly to DPI on behalf of their school district customers.
5 votesWe have the ability now for a couple years. In WISEstaff under Work with Staff Data select the Enter Aggregate Staff FTE option.
-
Uploading your Assignment and Contract Data
Show the steps for uploading your assignment and contract data and what to do once that information has been validated.

Assignment Codes (link) posted on WISEstaff page
A link to the codes on the main WISEstaff page so I can use as guide for degree level, teacher, subject, etc. Need directions or videos in a hand spot. Maybe a page link off of the main menu (left hand side)?
2 votesLink is now in many places in WISEstaff and on help pages.

Collect FTE for contracted, non-educator assignments in aggregate instead of by individual
Districts would be able report rolled up FTE values by non-educator assignment codes for contracted staff.
Districts with both employed and contracted positions would report FTE separately for individual employees and rolled up for contractors. DPI would combine the two data sets to produce a total FTE for reports
Service providers like bus companies could provide to districts the total hours that are estimated for drivers on district routes for the year by school. Bus companies would need to determine how to split hours between schools / districts for shared routes.
2 votesCreated Aggregrate Staff Reporting for the assignments we feel should be allowed this way. This includes bus drivers, food service and maintenance staff working for contracting companies.
