Both numbers are necessary due to differing requirement for persons that need to be licensed and which persons are reported in the Staff Collection.
We agree this is a good idea and are exploring ways to accomplish this. It is not going to be possible for the initial rollout the WISEdata system.

Entry of information
It would be great if no one was able to add punctuation within names.
Example: St. Louis
middle initial - M.
If entry was uniform there wouldn't be so many duplicates.
thanks6 votesUnfortunately, with expanding WISEdata Collection integration with WISEid we have to allow characters the Ed-Fi allows. Eventually, the person uploads will go away and what is in Ed-Fi will update WISEid. However, I checked and if you search for a person with or without periods the person comes up in results so this shouldn’t be creating duplicates.

Automatically split hyphenated surnames into multiple alias records
When a surname is submitted, Hyphenated names should be split at the hyphen and additional alias records created for each part of the name to facilitate matching possibly existing records
4 votesThe Searching and Matching engine that has been selected will behave correctly for hyphenated names. No need to split into aliases.

Fix Demo Site or put up a temporary outage message
While waiting for our security person to give me access to the WISEid site, I wanted to review the application so I could explain to others in my district how WISEid works. I tried going to the demo site we were given after the WISEdata conference and it is no longer operational. Can someone put a friendly message out there so if others try to go to this link, they know there currently is no demo site? Right now it just gives the generic (but ominous) 'Access Forbidden' Thanks!
1 voteUnfortunately with the holidays all state agencies are under a “Change Freeze” that prevents us from putting up a temporary message. We have a story to fix up the demo site and we will get that back in place as soon as we can.

0 votesDPI believes that a stronger relationship should exist between an LEA and a WISEid before that persons record can be edited.
