Help Expo/Open Spaces
Move the Help Expo and Open Spaces to the end of the day next year. For those who have to travel several hours to attend the specific sessions, it would be nice to have the option to attend or not.

Designate tables with signs for different SIS groups during breakfast/lunch
It would be easier to network/troubleshoot issues and errors we're having with people who actually use the same SIS as you.

Hold the conference in March
The majority of our data stewards are off between the end of June and end of August. This would be 60-70% of our participants.
Our district / vendor conferences are held in October, November, December and April.
Our conferences should take place prior to the vendor events as their systems should be reflecting our changes when appropriate.

Hold separate conferences for individualized areas.
In our small district, where one person wears many hats, only one person was able to attend the conference. There was no way that one person could sit in on sessions geared toward principal/teachers, bookkeepers, and students as there were conflicts within each breakout session.

More on licensing & coding
I think there could be a whole session on figuring out how various staff should be licensed and coded for the WISEstaff.
We all use different names for different positions and that makes it difficult to determine what license or WISEstaff code we should use.
You can also show us how to best use the WISEstaff spreadsheets provided, how to implement the coding additions, deletions and edits, and how to use DPI's licensing area.

Hold conference when the product can be demonstrated rather than just discussed. Have vendors discuss in breakout sessions
This to me was more of a sales presentation searching for ideas rather than what I anticipated it to be. I felt that what was shared could have been done via email with a link to a powerpoint and survey following. I did not feel that the amount of people who attended was necessary at this point.Once the product is near completion and can be demonstrated (hands on) and discussed with on-site vendors as well as DPI , that would make for a more successful conference.

Vendor to be present
We thought there was going to be information from our vendor, Skyward, at lunch to tie together the information. Allowing us to be able to visualize the new process or even what their ideas would be.

Vendors were present and presented to the Technology Leader Track after the lunch break. Next time we will make vendor presentations more available to all attendees

Please provide more transparency on timelines
The only project timelines on the web site are already past. It would be helpful for districts to see what's happening step-by-step with DPI, Ed-Fi, and vendors. Deadlines may be difficult for the long run, but a general idea would be nice, along with what the next steps and goals are.

Next year invite everybody
I am not sure who received the invitation email in my school district and it was not forwarded to the folks that needed to be there

Make presentations applicable to Choice Schools when they are invited to attend.
Most of the presentations were geared to the public school districts. As a representative of a Choice School I was introduced to new terminology and applications. I spent a good portion of the day wondering what was being discussed. Since we are the FIRST schools to implement the new data system WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE TRAINING? Hopefully the training will be given before the end of the school year so there is plenty of time for questions and answers.

Show how vendor relationship creates efficiency
Provide plans and examples of how the vendor relationship will save data reporting. Also explain how districts will be able to view and correct data before publication.
