URGENT Training on WISEid Student Application Process & Expectations
I was startled to find out about the impending change from the WSLS to WISEid system for student tracking. While I have heard whispers of info, finding out about the need to exit students this July and enter into a new process and system is concerning at this date and time. I would respectfully request that trainings, videos or conferences be made available to us who work within these systems every day. At a District level not only do I need to learn the student side of the application( I have worked w/ WISEstaff) I now need to learn, understand and train our Administrative Assistants at each of our buildings how to manage the entry and exit of students in our District. I would desperately hope for a State-wide effort to improve communication and training on this effort.
We have the https://dpi.wi.gov/wisedata/help/wiseid Help page. On this we even have E-Learning course and documentation.

WSLS Mass Transfer and Exit Functions
The Mass Transfer, Mass Transfer Confirmation, and Mass Exit have been removed from the WSLS as part of the transition to WISEid.
Districts are expected to exit students within the local SIS and submit a WSLS Exit / Update file. This will ensure that WSLS and the local SIS are in sync.

I have to agree with you. The communication and training for the people who actually use the programs has been lacking. For example, I am unable to exit our graduating seniors because the option to mass exit has been removed from the WSLS site. Now I am supposed to pull some type of record from our SIS to upload to WiseID and I have no idea how to do so.

We will start updating districts in our weekly user group call starting in June as to WISEid changes for public schools. We have also sent an email out to all the district DPI systems users with a link to this page http://dpi.wi.gov/wisedata/objectives-and-tasks which list all the upcoming changes. We will have videos upcoming and we are working with CESAs to provide training. Part the of the challenge is the system is still in development. The plan is we have a open test of the system in July for all districts that would like to start using it. All districts must use it by September though.
