    WISEid student change request should not be generated when the difference is just spaces or hyphens in the name.

  2. Do not deny Parent Name Change Requests

    When a parent informs us of a name change, while sometimes documentation is provided, we do not require it, in order to update our SIS. We do however, take the necessary steps to ensure that a name is not duplicated, incorrect, or wrong. I can see the need for the match-review process with students (and legal documentation), but the denial/appeal process with a parent name seems redundant.

  4. Staff and Student Indicators on Screens

    On the Change Request screen and the WISEid Edit Screen, indicate if it is for a staff or student. Spent several minutes trying to locate the person in our SIS only to find out they were a staff member. Not everyone deals with both student and staff.

  5. Provide a student download for approved change requests

    The Student Downloaded by Local Person ID is a file that shows students who have now left the district . So is there a way to pull a file (or download a file) that will tell me all the students who have been requested by another district. I would prefer to have a file rather than looking at the approved through Change Request one by one

  6. need instructions on page

    Next steps. I think that we need more directions or information under each category. Example. I have uploaded my csv file. Then, I went to results and downloaded the new/comment filled csv file back from the State. I tried to clean things up and resubmit. I am now down to zero errors, but 4 potential match issues that I need help with. Instructions would help. Thanks.

  7. Allow District-to-District transfer of students

    Districts could send/request students based on WISEid by flagging them for transfer and an accept/reject process. This would help avoid data errors and duplicate data entry.

  8. Develop better match criteria for students with two last names

    Students with two last names are frequently duplicated. Some districts might have used one or the other last name instead of both. Other districts might have last names in a different order. Another district might put a dash between two last names while another might use a space. Better matching criteria would help eliminate duplicates.

    Please work on a way to help identify students with two last names correctly in WISEid.

  9. Updating a person should only be done by agencies with an active reporting association

    Changing (Updating or editing) a name, DOB or gender should only be performed by users from agencies that have an unconflicted and current association established in a collection.

    staff as an example: a contract record should exist in the staff collection that established an association between the person and the Agency before that person can be edited by that agency.

    Students would need an enrollment record in the student collection.

    This suggestion basically mimics the current behavior of WSLS

    Towards the end of 16-17 we sent a request to SIS vendors to change their downloads of Person Upload data to provide an option or default to only including Students/Staff that are enrolled in the current school year. This should effectively complete the requested solution. If your vendor doesn’t allow limiting your Person Upload to just current year staff/students please submit a help desk ticket with your vendor to remind them to implement this requested change.

  11. WISEid Automatic Email Reminders

    It may be helpful to have WISEid send an automatic email to the user contact email address when there are changes (approvals & denials) so the School District contact person knows there is information waiting for them. I suggest providing the link right to the page the contact person needs to be at. Not all of us get onto this site immediately (especially in the midst of the beginning of the year) to take time to specifically log in and check this daily and within the seven days allotted for changes.   13. Students with 2 different items to approve/deny. Separate WISEid alert for each specific "item" for approval/denial.

    I often receive WISEid alerts for a single student that have two items in a single alert. Example: One line item is a name difference; Another line item is a race/ethnicity change.

    I would like the ability to approve or deny a single line item.

    The issue is that the District may need to Approve one of the line items and Deny the other line item. This option is not available; a District can either Approve ALL line items or Deny All line items.

  14. Name Change for Case Only

    Can you eliminate name change requests when the only difference is a change in case? We're asked to approve a difference between an "old value" of SMITH and a "new value" of Smith. Unless case is important, it would be nice not to see those!

    We deployed two solutions around this problem. One is when you open a staff person it opens in a new tab you can close out and go back to the original page when done looking or making changes for the person. Secondly we have a new button on the top right corner of the Staff List “Go to Navigator” that will allow you to navigate from person to person on the list without having to keep going back to the main page until you are done.

  18. Email notification when a message/change request needs my attention

    When a message/change request comes to my agency, I would love an email notification. Often times the seven days has come and gone before I even have a chance to see it.

    We have completed this finally. There are a few rough edges we are fixing in the next month or so, but the system is up and running. You can subscribe to emails from the WISEid/WISEstaff Admin Menu \ Agency Notifications page. Please suggest new ideas if there is any activity we currently don’t monitor that you want to get notifications for.

  20. Duplicate request notification

    Notification about duplicate reports being approved or denied to requesting agency. As they would need to know if the change went through to correct their SIS information.
